Ingredients:
Full Cream Milk: 1/2 L
Makhana: 1 cup
Sugar: 5 tbsps (level)
Cardamom powder: 1/4 tsp
Almond shavings: 2-3 tbsp
Coconut (grated ): 2-3 tbsp
Kishmish: 1 tbsp
Let's Begin!
Take makhanas in a microwaveable dish and roast for 1 minute in microwave
Remove from microwave and let it cool
Put milk in a Sauce pan and keep it on the gas on slow flame
When it boils, stir it and let it simmer for 5 minutes stirring in between
Break makhanas roughly either by pounding or with hands
Add makhanas to the simmering milk
Let it simmer for 5 minutes stirring continuously
When the kheer starts thickening, Stir in the sugar
Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes more
Add cardamom powder and give it a mix
Switch off the flame and mix in kishmish and coconut. Shavings
Let it cool
Garnish with Almond shavings and refrigerate for an hour before serving.
Note:
You can also consume it when warm, if you like.
