Preparation time: 30 min
Ingredients:
For Soya chunks
Soya Chunks: 2 cups
Maida: 2 tbsp
Curd: 3 tsp
Lemon juice: 1/2 lemon (optional)
Salt: as per taste
Red chilly powder: 1/2 tsp ( as per taste )
Black Pepper powder: 1/2 tsp
For the Manchurian
Onion (finely chopped): 1
Capsicum (sliced): 1
Onion (cut into broad slices): 1
Ginger (finely chopped):1 tsp
Garlic (finely chopped):1tsp
Soy sauce: 1tbsp
Red Chilly sauce: 1tbsp (as per taste)
Tomato Ketchup: 3 tbsp
Salt: 1/2 tsp
White Vinegar:1 tsp
Spring onion greens (Optional): 3 tbs
Sugar: 1 tbsp
Let's start!
For soya chunks:
· Boil about 4 cups of water with 1 tsp salt
· Add soya chunks to it and let simmer for 5 minutes
· Drain the water and let the chunks cool a little
· Now take a handful of soya chunks and squeeze lightly to remove excess water and likewise squeeze all chunks and keep in a mixing bowl
· Add ingredients for Soya chunks mentioned above to the squeezed chunks and mix well
Take 2-3 tbs Oil in a pan, heat it and add the maida coated soya chunks and stir fry till they change colour.
For Manchurian:
· Take 2 tbs Oil in a Wok / Pan, add finely chopped onion and stir fry on high flame
· When onions become translucent, add chopped garlic and ginger and stir
· Now add sliced Onion and Capsicum and stir fry for about 30 seconds and add Spring onion greens
· Add sauces, salt, sugar and vinegar and let the mix cook for 1 minute
· Add 1/4 cup water, lower the flame and cover it with a lid
· Let it simmer for 2 minutes so that all ingredients combine well
· Finally add the stir fried Soya chunks, mix well and cover and cook for 1 minute
Garnish with some spring onion greens and serve hot.
Note:
You can deep fry the coated soya chunks to enhance taste, if you like.
